COTAD Engage

Who we are

COTAD Engage serves as the programming arm of the organization. This committee aims to bring together occupational therapy students, practitioners, educators, and leaders through collaborative, informative, and action-oriented activities.

What we do

Plan and implement member and occupational therapy community engagement activities such as COTAD Conversations, Book + Club, the annual COTAD Breakfast, and more.

Join Us

Opportunities are available for OT and OTA students, educators, practitioners, and partners who want to promote engagement within the community in an impactful way.

Join COTAD to help create a world in which occupational therapy maximizes its potential to positively impact health, well-being, and quality of life for all people. Your membership will further empower you to engage in practices that increase justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion (JEDI); anti-racism and anti-oppression for a transformative occupational therapy profession.

“I attended the third COTAD IGNITE session, and as a first generation Latinx college-graduate, having the opportunity to access this information and resources was very empowering and valuable. Through this platform I was able to connect with Dr. Ryan Levalley from UNC and a first year student in the master’s program at DePaul.”

COTAD Book+ Club

COTAD Book+ Club is a discussion platform for those who want to dive into the variety of media (books, documentaries, podcasts, short films/movies, and videos) related to racial justice and anti-racism.

You may be feeling overwhelmed, or looking for a place to get started in your journey of learning about other cultures besides your own. We won’t be allies and anti-racists in a week or even a month. It takes time, and there is a lot of information out there.

The goal of this club is to educate ourselves, reflect, and grow in our personal and professional journey. We will choose different media to discuss together, because we are in this movement and journey together

Be a part of the discussion!

COTAD Awards

Every year, COTAD honors faculty and mentors and provides financial support to students and practitioners each year to acknowledge their contribution to our efforts and dedication to diversity, equity, and justice initiatives.
