Annual COTAD Awards 

Every year, COTAD honors faculty and mentors and provides financial support to students (Chapter of the Year) and practitioners each year to acknowledge their contribution to our efforts and dedication to JEDI, anti-racism and anti-oppression.


 

2023 Award Season

The COTAD Award season is upon us! COTAD would like to recognize and celebrate those in the field who are dedicated to action-based JEDI efforts that make a difference. The floor is open for nominations and self-nominations for the following awards:

COTAD Chapter of the Year Award: This award recognizes a COTAD Chapter that has gone above and beyond to develop and promote justice, equity, diversity and inclusion (JEDI), anti-racism, and anti-oppression within their OT/OTA education program, in their community, and in the OT profession. The application deadline is Friday, March 10th at 11:59 p.m. CST, and no late applications will be accepted. The winning chapter will be notified by March 24, and the award will be presented in person at the COTAD 10-Year Anniversary Event at AOTA conference on April 21.

COTAD-ED Outstanding Faculty Award: This award recognizes a faculty member working at an occupational therapy or occupational therapy assistant program who embodies the vision and supports the mission of COTAD.

NOMINATE an outstanding faculty member by Sunday, March 19, 2023, at 11:59 p.m. CST. The winner will be notified by April 9, 2023, and the award will be presented in person at the COTAD 10-Year Anniversary Event at AOTA conference on April 21, 2023.

CMP Mentor of the Year Award: This award will be granted to the mentor enrolled in the COTAD Mentorship Program (CMP) who has gone above and beyond to provide exceptional mentorship for the mentee(s) in their service with COTAD CMP. All current and past COTAD mentors are eligible to receive this award. Mentors may also nominate themselves!

Those selected will be encouraged to attend the in-person COTAD Annual Event where award winners will be recognized. Recipients will be featured in the COTAD Courier, on COTAD social media pages, and on the website.

New Practitioner Impact & Innovation Award: This award will be granted to an entry-level occupational therapy practitioner with up to three years of experience who is invested in professional leadership and action to impact justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion. The application for this award will be open later in the year, after our April 10-year anniversary celebration.

Nominate a COTAD Chapter, faculty member, practitioner or COTAD Mentorship Program mentor for an award in spring 2022 to celebrate their success and demonstrate the value of JEDI in our profession!

Winners will be announced at our annual spring event - All nominators and nominees are encouraged to attend.

All award winners will be featured in the COTAD Courier, COTAD social media pages, and on our website.
