Our organization is responsive - not reactive. Read our "Statement on Statements" to understand why we will not be sharing future statements in reaction to incidences of violence and hatred in our communities and around the world.

The Coalition of Occupational Therapy Advocates for Diversity (COTAD) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that began as a note on a cocktail napkin and has since become one of the world's preeminent occupational therapy organizations addressing issues of systemic racism and oppression, occupational injustice, healthcare equity, and educational decolonization.

Our MISSION is empowering occupational therapy leaders to engage in practices that increase justice, diversity, equity, and inclusion for a more transformative occupational therapy profession.

Our VISION is a future in which occupational therapy is accessible, inclusive, and effective for all.

We are a powerful network of individuals, students, educators, and advocates from across the the globe all working towards a common goal of promoting diversity and inclusion within the occupational therapy workforce and increasing the ability of occupational therapy practitioners to serve an increasingly diverse population.
